Extra-Curricular Activities

Budmouth has always valued the importance of a strong extra–curricular programme of activities.  We believe it is very important for students to be able to learn new skills and have enjoyable and rewarding experiences beyond the classroom.  All students are encouraged to take part in at least one extra- curricular activity although many of our students will become engaged in many more than that. We believe that our busiest students are often the happiest. If you believe that happy students are more likely to perform well at school, then the case for getting involved in extra-curricular activities is clear!

We try to offer a wide and varied programme of clubs and activities.  If there is something that we are not currently offering, please do let us know and we will see what we can do.  Sports, Art, Film Club, Debating, Dance, Drama, Crochet, Photography, Engineering, Gaming, Poets’ Society, Reading, Music, Computing, Duke of Edinburgh (Gold, Silver and Bronze) and Ten Tors are all very well established at Budmouth.  We also have our own weekly Combined Cadet Force (CCF) that students can apply to join.

In addition to these enrichment activities there is also after school study support available for students.  Homework Club takes place every day in the Resources Centre.    Other subjects also offer additional intervention and support at different times of the academic year.
